Jim Jones Made History

“Those who do not know about the past are condemned to repeat it.” The incident concerning the Jonestown, Guyana mass suicide in 1978 was one event where we must not forget what occurred that way we do not reiterate history. I do not know Jim Jones personally, but I am pretty sure that he was a very controlling individual where if things didn’t go his way, he reacted violently. Having 912 people commit suicide all in the matter of a short time, is hard to accept as true especially them all being convinced it was the right thing to do under the command of Jones. By examining the deaths of the children and people of the Peoples Temple, it is evident that this event was a mass murder and not a mass suicide.

Jones felt as if he was God reincarnate and all those who followed him to Jonestown, believed this was true. Jones was there for his people in a time where prejudice/racism was still well known and he gave them an opportunity to interact with one another without worrying abou...
