Buddy Rich

Buddy Rich is probably the greatest drummer to live. He had a love for music from the age of four and on. He was blessed with the talent when he was born. Rich could play with remarkable speed and dexterity. He was a true talent of the world.
Buddy was born to Robert and Bess Rich on September 30, 1917. He was introduced to audiences at a very young age. By 1921 he was seasoned soloist with his Vaudville act, “Traps the Drum Wonder.” He played regularly on Broadway. He was the second highest paid child entertainer in the world.
Buddy began playing jazz in 1937. He played with Joe Marsala in New York. He also played with Tommy Dorsey, Dizzy Gelepsie, Louis Armstrong, Charlie Ventura and Gene Krupa. Those names tell ...
