Jane Eyre

Jane Eyre has to be a very strong girl to endure the kinds of treatment she did at her Aunt’s house. Being locked in a red room, as a punishment today would be unthinkable, but Jane endured it. Jane ends up going to Lowood, a school for orphan girls. The situation Jane is in is not idyllic and most of the people their treat her badly. Jane does meet a nice girl their named Helen, but later on Helen dies of consumption due to a typhus epidemic. Jane ends up spending eight years in Lowood, six years as a student and two as a teacher.
After finding out her soon to be husbands’ dead wife is in fact alive, Jane flees Thornfield.
At this point in the book, Charlotte Bronte could take this story and do whatever she pleases. I think this point is what really gets the reader wanting to find out what happens to Jane. Jane has endured so much in her young life that you f...
