It Will Never Stop, Forms of it will Always Exist.

In Bells of Freedom by Dorothy Gilman, many ways civilians suffered in the Revolutionary War were described. Small pox was a disease that had drastically spread. People who were infected died. It was a leading epidemic during the war. For healthy people this was frightening because they could easily get the disease. Loss of men was the biggest problem (p.110). The colonial soldiers and civilians had very little food (p.78). The meals were small and there wasn’t enough to go around. At the taverns soldiers were fed first. Leftovers or small portions would be given to some nearby Americans. This caused starvation and health issues.
