Island Hill

It all started at the end of July, just a month after school had ended for the summer. After spending four whole weeks of lazing around, having a laugh and enjoying our freedom… we had gotten bored. So we were all just sitting around on the steps of the town hall trying to think of something to do when suddenly I remembered about the Island. “Hey,” I said, “I used to go to this really cool place with my parents when I was a kid. It’s an island just off the coast of Comber. It’s really creepy, apparently it’s supposed to be haunted by pirates, and there are lots of caves and an old lighthouse we can explore.”
“Sounds cool,” my friend David said. “Yeah it would be good fun, we could build a camp fire and everything,” Niki added. “Ok then, it’s settled we’re going to Island Hill.

That night we packed our bags, filling them with sleeping bags, matches, torches, a tent and lots of food. In the morning, we met up at nine ...
