Is Spanking Alright?

There has been a lot written lately about child discipine. Most "experts" ask parents to try such methods as "time-out" or rewarding good behavior (Anti-Spanking Drive Comes Home 3). But it is my belief that the best way to make a child behave, is an "old-fasioned" spanking.

As a child, I received my fair share of spankings. Although I was never beat black and blue, just the idea of receiving a hand swat on my backside was enough of an incentive to behave. Yes, spanking are hurtful and embarrassing. That fact in itself caused me to wasnt to behave. I am not alone in this belief. The Family Research Council recently held a poll of more than 1,000 people, and four out of five of the people polled shared my beliefs (The Fallacies of Pro-Spanking Science 1).
