Iraq Anita Ancic Essay number three Iraqi Government, past and present Arab nationalist issues dominated the agenda that impeded the development of a stable Iraqi government. Factors that brought upon these issues include the British and French control during 1920 through 1933. In 1932 Iraq gained recognition as an Independent state, only to be occupied, once again, by the British regime. Also, just as it seems that control was given to the small country of Iraq, imperialism issues arose as powerful and more stable nations gained control with intentions of repression.
