Introduction to a short essay

It was 5:47 and I was standing in line at the Richwood County Food Mart. Usually at this time I would be home taking off my cumbersome work shoes while sitting on my red rose patterned couch petting my black cat Pharaoh; waiting for the water to finish boiling so I could add in my dinner, linguini for one. But today because of a change in mood to try something different other than the average pasta and meat sauce, I stopped in at my local store to pick up something more sophisticated, like roasted lemon zested chicken with a side of potatoes au gratin. Now that it had been 15 minutes standing in line behind a obese woman who had everything in her cart from rocky road ice cream to a half pound jar of mayonnaise, I started to regret my endeavor for a more erudite dinner and wish I was sitting in my sweats at home shoveling warm pasta into my mouth.
