Giants chip in for Palladium

INDUSTRY chip giants Intel and Advanced Micro Devices have confirmed they will support Microsoft's plan to improve PC hardware and software security.

The project, which uses what Microsoft calls Palladium technology, will pair the latest processor and motherboard designs from Intel and AMD with a future version of Windows that integrates basic security changes.
Palladium "is really about security, privacy and system integrity", Microsoft content security business unit group product manager Mario Juarez said. "This is about rearchitecting the PC platform."
