International News Is Taking the Lead

The tragedies of the past year and a half have been devastating. These events have changed the lives of Americans forever. Before September 11, 2001, citizens of the United States were not really aware of what was going on internationally. Since the terrorist attack on the World Trade Centers space for international news has increased steadily in the newspapers. Now more than ever before that the quality of news coverage must be improved. News must be reported with the readers’ interests as top priority, so they can stay informed of what is occurring overseas.
An informed nation is a nation ready to face whatever comes. In James Fallows article he talks about “Public Journalism”, public journalism is, is journalism written in the interest of the people. It’s finding out what the readers like and then writing articles pertaining to those subjects of interest. Journalists usually ignore the consequences of what they write.
