International Crisis of 1920's 1The international crisis of the 1920's occurred following the announcement by the Allied reparations commission. The Allied reparation commission decided that Germany must pay a sum of 33 billion dollars to Britain and France. In 1921 Germany made its first payment of 2.5 billion dollars under the young German republic. But in 1922 stated that Germany could not pay the reparations anymore. Germany was influenced by problems of inflation and hostility causing political assassinations. This was the beginning of the crisis which was started by France's choice to not accept Germany's announcement. While Britain accepted the troubled times of Germany, France's leader Raymond Poicare invaded the Ruhr district, which was the center of industrial Germany, with their ally Belgium.
