Interdisciplinary Teaching

In a variety of ways life is interdisciplinary. Problems can never be solved and solutions can never be found by an individual source of knowledge. Similarly, information that is given in two different ways, yet tied together, can be favorable for students. Interdisciplinary teaching in our school district would be highly beneficial to students, according to my knowledge from “In the Poetry Lab with Dr. Frankenstein” by Ashton Nichols.
As proved in a variety of school districts, interdisciplinary teaching challenges students to make connections between topics. Superficially, the subjects of science and literature have little in common. But, many renowned scientists often display their findings in a poetic form. One example of this is Erasmus Darwin, who described the ‘sex life’ of plants in poetic couplets. Less known for his scientific achievements was Lord Byron, who wrote a description of the Earth as seen from outer space...
