Review on “Insomnia”

“Insomnia” tells the story of Will Dormer, a Los Angeles detective, who travels to Alaska so him and his partner can investigate the vicious murder of a seventeen year old Alaskan girl. Dormer and his partner receive a lead on Walter Finch, an author who was supposedly seeing the victim on a regular basis. Dormer eventually caught Finch trying to steal the victim’s backpack and began a vigorous chase after him on a rocky, fog-filled beach. Unfortunately Dormer was not fast enough and Finch slipped away out of his grasp. Wile Finch attempts to make his escape, Dormer fires his gun at him. He soon finds out that he mistakenly killed his friend and partner.
Dormer is struck with an overbearing sense of guilt and remorse and begins experiencing insomnia as a result. In the meantime, Finch begins to manipulate and stalk Dormer because he is the only one who knows his shocking secret.
