Insitutions/Government



A civilization is a complicated form of one particular culture, characterized by certain traits. The traits include growth of cities; which can also be described as population increases, specialized workers (craft persons), writing (originally cuneiform), advanced technology (trying to improve ways of life), and institutions. Institutions, long lasting patterns of organization, include government, religion, education, and family. Government sets instructions for the ways life. It includes laws and punishments for crimes committed. Religion is having belief in a higher power(s) or supreme being(s). Education is the way we learn throughout life. Family is a combination of the three in smaller units, the reign of the government usually the eldest male in the group.
