Influence of the church

Thesis: Church had too much influence on science (and philosophy) during the Middle Ages

I agree, because:

1. Schools >
Education in the Middle Ages was based on religion. Schools were very religious and in the beginning of the Middle Ages, monasteries were the most common institutions for education. No longer was education based on the Roman and Greek ideas. Of course this had a huge effect on the students. If you go to a school, where almost everything is based on religion it leaves you no choice, than to just believe what’s being said about the bible and base everything on what is said in the bible. Education is a very important thing in the life of young persons. I think it should offer them an objective view towards the world, so not provide them with a perspective based on mostly the bible. But luckily not only the bible was used in school, also some Greek and Roman sources, which of course, are more logical and rational, were being used, but the bible didn’t disappear...
