Introduction
Indian textile industry shows a growing shift in the recent years towards the adoption of pollution prevention measures due to the growing international pressure of Eco-friendly products. The government of India in its policy statement for the abatement of pollution has laid down a specific thrust on the proportion of pollution prevention. According to the Indian minister of textile, the Indian textile industry should improve the way of production towards environmental friendly solutions. There is a great potential for instituting waste minimisation and pollution prevention measures through the adaptation of the cleaners technologies/process changes in most of the polluting textile industry sector.
