Independence Day 2002 Essay

It's Independence Day. 226 years ago, a group of men, believers in personal freedom, told the British Empire that their presence here was no longer welcome. They felt this way because the English rule had become oppressive. People were treated like they could not think for themselves, they were taxed beyond belief, had little or no say in their government, and, in short, were not able to exercise even the most basic God-given freedoms without a Royal Decree.

Today, we need to tell the American Soviet Empire that their presence here is no longer welcome. Their rule has become oppressive. People are treated like they can not think for themselves, they are taxed beyond belief, have little or no say in their government, and, in short, are not able to exercise even the most basic God-given freedoms without an Executive Decree.
