In what ways did the Fascist party change in the year 1919 - 1922?

The fascist movement changed dramatically between 1919 and 1922. In 1919, Italy had faced a change from the socialist movement, which had a fair, though not massive, level of support. The fascist party, on the other hand, was still very new and unproven, but did have the support of people who were unhappy with the status quo that was in Italy. At this time in 1919, they had a rival newspaper to the socialist newspaper Avant!, (which Mussolini was a former editor of) Il Popolo d’Italia.
In April 1919, the Fascists, led by Mussolini, stamped their authority over the left wing socialists by burning down the offices of Avanti!. At this time, however, they themselves were still left wing, and so in direct competition with the socialists for support. Acts of violence in the early Fascist movement were common, and got the attention of the people.
