According to me to contend "competition has more negative than a positive effect" is not wise , rather I would vie than competition has equally good and bad effect. The present day society is nourished by competition which appears in the various chunk of society in various form. Be it a competitive examination for job or university, or competition for power or competition for better technology. The technological development are but result of "competion". Had there been no "Cold war" and competition between the world two superpower-America and Russia, the world would have deprived of several technological advancement. The advancement in the space technology proceeded with leaps and bounds during the cold war era only because the high competition prevailed.
