FUNCTIONS OF THE IMMUNE SYSTEM

Inside your body there is an amazing protection

mechanism called the IMMUNE SYSTEM. This

system is a body wide network of cells and organs that

help you fight off millions of bacteria, microbes, viruses,

toxins, and parasites that invade your body.

The organs of the Immune System are stationed

throughout the body. They are known as lymphoid organs

because they are concerned with the growth, development,

and deployment of lymphocytes.
