Iliad
The existence of Gods, their connection to human beings, and human emotions are greatly expressed throughout “Iliad”, an immensely interesting Greek poem by Homer. What is especially interesting is the appearance of the bravest heroes on each side, Achilleus in Greece and Hector in Troy, which separates the “Iliad” into antagonistic feelings; one of them being negative human emotions and the other one expressed through tender-hearted humanism.
Even though the cause of war is Troy’s fault in taking Helen from Menelaos, readers experience that their sympathy goes to the Trojans. The reason for this is led by the contrasting description of characteristics between Achilleus and Hector. Achilleus is depicted as an overly egotistic and violent person; his mind is full of rage and anger. For example, Achilleus gets angry after a quarrel with Agamemnon. He thinks the king of Achaians...
