Iliad Running head: CHARACTERS Achilles, Agamemnon, and Hector Larry Caudill Eastern Kentucky University Achilles, Agamnon, and Hector Achilles is a leader of the Achaean army who is a very courageous, fierce, and noble fighter. Agamemnon states,” Achilles is the most violent man alive.” Homer (2002, p. 123) Achilles has been in many battles for the Achaean army and has developed a name for himself as an unmatched warrior. Achilles is the best warrior that the Achaean army has. Homer depicts Achilles as a very strong natured, hot tempered, insubordinate person who prizes his honor above the well being of his fellow troops. Achilles would rather seek glory in battle rather than have a long life. Achilles is a warrior that stands up to the legend of once a soldier always a soldier. Later in the poem Achilles lets his anger and pride overcome him. After losing Briseis to Agamemnon, Achilles becomes enraged. This anger would cause several confrontations bet...
