If a society is to thrive, it must put its own overall success before the well-being of its individual citizens

Every society has an aim of getting prosperous and thrived. But dose it mean that the society should ignore its citizens¡¯ well being and exclusively pursue its overall success? To me, such an idea is absurd. Maybe a society sometimes have to sacrifice the interest of some of its people, it just cannot ignore the well being of the large majority.

Firstly, a society is always constituted by its individual citizens. There is no such thing that exists independently above the thousands of thousands of people and is called ¡°society¡±. As a society consists of many people, definitely it should represent their interests. And the standard for a society to be a prosperous one can only be connected with the well being of its individual citizens. It is highly doubtful that a society in which all the people can not have enough food can be called a successful society, no matter how good looking it may seems....
