Recent advances in MEMS technology have resulted
cheap and portable devices with formidable sensing,
computing and wireless communication capabilities [1][
A network of these devices could be invaluable for automated
information gathering and distributed micro-sensing in many
civil, military and industrial applications. The use of wireless
medium for communication provides a flexible means
deploying these nodes without any fixed infrastructure,
possibly at some inhospitable terrain. Once deployed, they
should require minimal external support for their functioning.
