Huck Finn Debate

In schools all around the country, young children are beginning to read Huckleberry Finn.
Parents feel that the novel may be objectionable for the young reader. People in today’s society
may view this book as a classic; others may view it as racist and think it should be prohibited in
schools. However, parents should have the ability to decide if Huckleberry Finn should be read in
schools. If a parents with a child decided that they feel uncomfortable reading school material they
should have the authority to decide to read the novel or to find something else.
Parents know what is best for their children. They are always seeking to find what is best
for them. Parents have lived with their children the child whole life so they always know how they
will react to certain situations, how they will feel in akward situations. In public schools no one
child be he black or white should be segregated against. If made to feel this way a parent will take
action, and try to find ...
