How Sept. 11 Affected Me

The Effect September 11 Had on Me.

An experience that impacted my life in a deep and profound way is September 11. It was a day that will forever be remembered as a day of infamy. I’ll never forget that frightening day in 3rd period Latin class when a custodian entered the room and said that a plane crashed into the World Trade Center. What came to mind was a small Cessna airplane in a tragic accident. But it wasn’t.

Before September 11, I was always proud of my city; always proud to be a New Yorker. I was born and raised in Brooklyn and an avid Manhattan-goer. I can see why people aspire to move here. I want to be an actress, so living in the city is useful. I interned at an off-Broadway theatre my senior year of high school. And nothing beats Christmas in Herald Square.
