How Paranoia can Imprison Us All (Relating to the story of Demeter and Persephone)

Parents mean well to protect their children from the unfairness and terrorization of life’s paths, but can they keep it all away from you? I think not. There is no such thing as one hundred percent safety and as long as that is a fact, then facing danger is inevitable. Though one’s deed to protect their child is strong and meaningful, it does not mean for parents to deprive their children of all the rewards they can achieve by taking risks, nor for people in general to live life in fear. Such a theme is perpetrated throughout the story of Demeter and her daughter Persephone.
The relationship of Demeter and Persephone was very close, as they would spend many afternoons together, creating fine spring days for the Greeks to indulge into by Demeter, the goddess of harvest.
