How does table salt affect the boiling point of the water

Purpose.
?? Why do cooking instructions, always tell you to add salt in the water or food??
To answer first question we can do an experiment by ourselves, we know that salt makes water to boil with a higher temperature, so lets prove it.












Hypothesis.
I am not sure that salt really calls water to boil with a higher temperature, but I think it is, because when we add salt to the water, when we are cooking something, it will cook faster, because temperature is higher. I will do an experiment to check my guessing ( but without any food, just water ).












Materials.
1. Table salt.
2. Distilled water.
3. Pot.
4. Metric cup (ml).
5. Metric spoon ( for the salt). I will take table spoon 10 ml
6. Thermometer C’. Given by Mrs.McDonald.
7. Stirring spoon.
8. Stove.










Procedure.

1. Take metric cup and fill it up to 500ml.
