How does Russell show the development of the relationship between Frank and Rita

The main thing that Russell uses in ‘Educating Rita’ to show the growth of the relationship is the differences and similarities of both Frank and Rita. He uses this technique in all scenes but in different ways.
To begin with Russell uses difference from scene 1 to his strength, Rita walking into a whole different world, the world of literature and of course the lifestyle of a bored, alcoholic teacher who lacks the passion he once had for the subject.
At the beginning there is the massive clash of different classes, working class and upper class. Frank is quite taken back by Rita and the way she is not shy, and she just comes out with what she wants to say.
