How did Aboriginal & non- relations in Australia change during 1900-2000?

During the period 1900-2000 there was a profoundly significant change in Aboriginal relations with the non-Aborigines. This was shown by an investigation of paternalism, protectionism, stolen generation, assimilation, integration and reconciliation. There were emotions of racism, discrimination, inequality and prejudice attitude experienced evolving to citizenship and reconciliation.
Paternalism occurred when the white settlers judged the Aborigines as if they couldn’t look after themselves and needed help. Decisions and problems were solved and made for them. Paternalism was derived from the belief that white people were superior to Aboriginal people and their culture and society was considered to be primitive. In the early 1900s, reserves were made for Aborigines. People began to protect and civilise them teaching them British society and turning them to Christians.
