Holden on to things

The Catcher in the Rye is a classic book that signifies the life and troubles of the average teenager. It is the written word of those who have had a problematic adolescence, and it’s the voice that lets people know that there are other’s out there that feel there pain. Though it is such a great classic, many people undermined the book, but, the people that understand the book realize what it really represents, and the psychological troubles of the young Holden Caulfield. Holden went through many emotional disturbances as a child, and it is now affecting his adolescence. The most traumatic was the death of his little brother Allie, which has caused an emotional chain reaction, sending Holden into a downward spiral of frustration, regression and loneliness; the main reasons for Holden’s depression.
