History Of Tenby

Introduction

Tenby or Dinbych-y-Pysgod as it is known as in Welsh, is a small coastal town in Pembrokeshire, south west Wales. It is about fourteen and a half kilometres south of Narberth and is approximately fifteen and a half kilometres east of Pembroke. Tenby is situated on the A478.
Tenby is the only town actually situated within the boundaries of the Pembrokeshire National Park. The Park starts at Amroth in the east, ends at Poppit Sands in the north, is roughly 186 miles long and attracts many tourists every year.
