History of Joan of Arc

Today we come across incidents and scandals where we find out that religious figures are not as pure or holy as society assumes them to be. This is what the society in the age of the Hundred Years’ War thought of Joan of Arc. Or at least the small part of society that wanted nothing more than to ruin her reputation as the messenger of God. “The Maid”, or Joan of Arc, posses’ characteristics that contradict this small part of society’s expectations of religious figures in this time period.
Throughout this story of Joan of Arc, her vision is seen as a mission to be the messenger of God. Among those missions, she was to raise the siege laid to the city of Orleans against the enemy who was Great Britain. At first Joan of Arc had trouble interpreting why she, a young woman, brainless in how to lead combat, received such a task.
