Dearest Journal,
Here we go again with another world war. When will the madness ever end! My heart is broken because Russia is involved in the war. It is now up against the country that I have lived and loved in for nearly 40 years. I don’t know whose side I should be in really. Although my hearts goes out to Canada, the memories of my early childhood in Russia are still lividly sketched in my mind. Despite the fact that the people of my kind were commonly persecuted by the Russian government and their society, I still had some good times. Oh if only Orlando was still alive he would know what to do, but he died years ago in the middle of this Depression. I know what he would do … he would rejoin the army. He is very fond of this country and so am I. Therefore that is where I’ll decide I’ll put my loyalty to.
