Historical Events In Britain 1960-1979

The time period I will be focusing on is from 1960 to 1979. However, in my diary the year will be 1979. Many important and historical events happened during these times in Britain and the rest of the world.
In August of 1961, Britain applied for membership to EEC. In 1962, the first live television broadcast between the United States and Britain took place. Kenya gained independence from Britain in 1963. This was the year President Kennedy was assassinated in the United States also. Another great event of that year, was the Great Train Robbery on the London mail train.
1964 also proved to be a great year for Britain and the rest of the globe. Malta gained its independence from Britain on September 21. United States commenced the saturation bombing of North Vietnam and China detonated the first atomic bomb. On October 8, 1965, the Post Office Tower opened in London standing at an amazing 620 feet. That year was also when Britain banned all cigarette advisements from airing on televis...
