Forks in The Road
In the short stories “Hills like White Elephants” by Ernest Hemingway and “Young Goodman Brown” by Nathaniel Hawthorn the authors’ styles are different. The two stories are written different in many ways. The two authors use different types of diction, sentence structure, and symbolism, trough out their stories.
Many types of diction are used in both stories. The author uses types of words differently. Hemingway uses small words that any reader could understand. He states, “yes I know it’s perfectly simple”(173). Nathaniel Hawthorn is very different because he uses educated words that are difficult to understand.
