Hills Like White Elephants by Ernest Hemingway

In the short story ¡°Hills Like White Elephants¡± written by Ernest Hemingway, the reader becomes acquainted with Jig. She resembles a complex character that offers the reader more feelings of emotion, innate wisdom, and depth of character that comes with a better understanding of the dialogue shared between Jig and her boyfriend. A clear discernment of whether her character is round or flat, a determination her traits and qualities, and conclusion of the verisimilitude of Jig¡¯s character will be defined through simple words exchanged between two characters.
From the initial reading of ¡°Hills Like White Elephants¡± one may conclude that ¡°the girl¡± (Jig) is a very flat character.
