High Blood Pressure

High blood pressure (also known as arterial hypertension) is described as an increase in the pressure of blood in the arteries. High blood pressure works against the heart and arteries, causing arterial disease. When you have high blood pressure; your heart has to work harder for it to pump blood throughout your entire body. When the heart is required to work extra hard for an extended period of time, it is likely to expand.
