It is imperative for the Afghan people to have Afghanistan rebuilt into a stable nation because of the absence of government and an economic standstill. Since the late 1970’s, there has been no form of productive government in Afghanistan. Each time a new government steps in, there is always a problem. But still, many people in Afghanistan blame the communists who took over in the 1970’s for the problems today. “Most people living in Afghanistan have never known an elected government; most came to power by force” (Rhode 1). When the Taliban took rule, most Afghan people felt that the Taliban rule initially seemed more advantageous to them than the forces who took over after the Soviets withdrew.
