Herodotus versus Thuyclides

Both Herodotus and Thucydides are historian that recorded history. But the way they collected their data and when they collected are different. Herodotus relied heavily on personal accounts because no one had written anything down yet. While Thucydides relied on personal observation or statements from others present at event. Because of Herodotus writes about events that happened years before he is born and uses mythological references, some people could say that is evidence isn’t believable. That’s why I think Thucydides writings are more credible than Herodotus.
Herodotus is called the father of history because he was the first person to write down historical events. He wanted to preserve the memory of the past of the Greeks e Orientals and to show how the two came to conflict.....
