Discrimination

Discrimination and prejudice are plagues that effect America and the World. We have seen many examples in our past and present. Are discrimination and prejudice the same? No, discrimination and prejudice are different. Let’s first look at discrimination. Discrimination is defined as (*1) “A negative action taken against an individual as a result of his or her group.” This tells us that discrimination is an Action. Discrimination comes in many forms. Race, age, gender, weight, economic, same sex relationships, discrimination knows almost no boundaries. Let’s take a look at the different types.
Race discrimination. This is one of that larger forms and most prevalent in society. This form of discrimination is based on the color of the individuals skin, and or Nationality. In most cases it does come down to the color of an individuals skin. This is due mainly to ignorance. A person of Asian decent is labeled “Chinese” or “Japanes...
