Hebrew and Buddism

People throughout history have looked to religion to explain the world around them. Not surprisingly, the beliefs a group of people come to adopt usually have many distinct connections with their experiences as a people. The Hebrew people explained suffering in accordance to the great number of tragedies they have gone throw, while Buddhist’s ideas of why suffering exist follow their interpretations of Buddha’s teachings. Buddhist and Hebrew ideas of why suffering exists have many distinct differences and similarities which molded the societies they lived in. Hebrew tendencies to see their suffering as a result of their sins is drastically different from the Buddha’s first noble truth, “the existence of sorrow (all life is suffering)”.
