INTRODUCTION
To investigate how the quantity of heat released during the reaction an acid and a base depends on the amounts of acid and base that react.
The volumes of the reaction mixtures are the same, so the magnitudes of the temperature changes are relative measures of the quantities of heat released.
It is Fundamental that you follow the instructions given in the experimental as this experiment can be dangerous. Don¡¦t add any other substances, and certainly do not stir the mixture with the thermometer. Always use a fume cupboard when dealing with unknown substances.
