Hamlet

As a young diplomat, torn between love and justice, Hamlet has proven his altruism by choosing to sacrifice his love for Ophelia in turn for retribution of his father’s murder. As he enters in the beginning of the scene, a seemingly innocuous Ophelia greets him with respect saying, “How does your honor for this many a day?” Hamlet then answers in humble reply, beginning his wordplay with Ophelia in an affable manner only to be thrown off by her request to return to him love letters he had written to her.
