Hamlet

People often over emphasis the importance of the main characters, and over look on the importance of a minor character. The role as minor characters serves to strengthen messages, while it helps set up the climax of the plot. They are also considered as props for expressing important details and often shape the role of the main character. In Shakespeare's Hamlet, minor characters such as Guildenstern, Rosencrantz, Gertrude, the ghost, players and the gravediggers all effectively shapes the character of Hamlet and helps explain the reasons behind Hamlet’s action; their role significantly contributes to both the theme and the progression of the plot.
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are two of the most obvious minor characters,
