Greek Myths and Legends

In Ancient Greece, many people believed in many different gods, each god had a different purpose and a different meaning. The Greek gods were like humans, they looked like us and they had the same feelings as us. Greek Mythology was not used to teach anyone in any Spiritual way unlike new religions such as Hinduism or Judaism.

The Greeks believed that the gods chose mount Olympus, in a region of Greece called Thessaly, as their home. The Gods became associated with three main domains, which were: The Sky (or Heaven) The Sea and Earth. The Olympians were Zeus, Hera, Hephaestus, Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Ares, Aphrodite, Hestia, Hermes, Demeter, and Poseidon.
