Greek Art History

The first Greek city-states to be developed were Athens, Corinth, and Sparta. These city-states made whole new sets of shared values, such as basing power strength on manufacturing and commercial skills, trade, as well as military strength. These independent city-states started a justice system and eventually more villages and large towns were developed which also followed this justice system. The justice system entailed large groups of people with common cultures called ethnos. The ethnos were then governed by oligarchies, which were selected, higher class families. This was the start of our democracy as we know it today.
All Greek achievements in religion, philosophy, the arts, and the sciences are based on the correlation between the earth, the sea, and the sky.
