During the time of ancient Greece many sculptors recognized the beauty of the male body and adored its magnificent features. Greek writers wrote about the half man half god Adonis who was the most beautiful specimen, which every man dreamed to be. After the fall of Ancient Greece and the uprising of Catholicism most lost interest in the physical aspects of life. During the late 19th early 20th century Their was a new taking towards the rise of the male physic.
A more muscular, developed and more powerful man was born. In the late 1950s body builders came to the scene and it was a celebration of the accomplishments of the male body. Women took a liking to the male body and soon men of all stature wanted to have the Adonis like physic. As the next 50 years progressed men became more serious and in some cases developed into an unhealthy pathological state. The Adonis Complex was born.
