GREAT GATSBY

In The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, the two charcters, Tom and Jay Gatsby, have many differences but also share many similarites. Although they are two completly different people, the author somehow finds a way to make the alike.
Fitzgerald portrays Tom as a man that has everything he could ever want. He has the money that every person today dreams that they had, he has a beautiful wife and also is a member of the upper class in soceity. Jay Gatsby, like Tom, also has everything that a man could want. People envied them and felt that they had everything that a person could ever want. However, Jay and Tom felt diffrently. Jay and Tom both felt like they were missing something in thier lives. In Jays case, he fely like he was missing the love of daisy in his life. Ever since h left her to go to the war and never saw her again he wished that he would be able to see her again.
