Granma

As far as I can remember, my grandmother was like superwoman to me. Since my parents worked weekdays, I would always go over to my grandmother’s house in the summer. Some children have teenagers as there babysitters, but not me. I am still to this day so very grateful for that. Because it was summer, my grandmother and I were always outside. I would see her do the things I thought my grandfather or any man for that matter should be doing. While I was under the trees making mud pies she would be cutting the lawn, taking the trash out, pulling weeds, and all sorts of yard work a grandmother would not normally do. My grandfather is still alive but has a very bad heart condition so I guess the work had to be done somehow. Always after she was done, with all her work, we would sit on the porch swing and she would tell me stories and sing me songs. I thought there was nothing my grandmother could not do.
